  Yoga Therapy

Picture
Pregnancy yoga can be a wonderful way to connect with your baby and with yourself during the most sacred time in a woman's life. Practicing Yoga while pregnant, not only tones muscles that you will use for birthing, but also reduces stress, relieves aches and gives an overall sense of well-being.  It is about finding your inner and outer strength so you can find more balance and harmony on your journey to motherhood.

We offer pre and post natal private yoga sessions. A certified yoga instructor specializing in pregnancy yoga comes to the privacy of your home and takes the goddess mama through a individualized sequence of breathing, yoga poses, and meditations.

"In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks" - John Muir
In Ecotherapy, we use the inherent connection with nature that we all have within as a tool in our coaching process.  People in industrialized societies now spend more that 90% of their day indoors and therefore have become increasingly disconnected from the natural world. Due to this industrialization, humans have become more and more disconnected from nature leaving us unbalanced and open to a variety of mental and emotional problems. Yet, as human beings we seem to have an innate need to be close to nature and all living things.  Research has shown that by living in harmony with the Earth, it helps sustain and heal us mentally, physically and spiritually.

In an Ecotherapy session, the client will be led on nature walks that are appropriate to their physical ability. During these 1 to 2 hour walks, the facilitator will bring the expectant mother into nature and into the beauty of the hear and now. Participants learn by immersing themselves in the environment and by talking and sharing their experiences. The time will be used to encourage the client to check in with her body and work through any blocks that she might be holding within her in order for her to move through her pregnancy with a deeper feeling of peace.  Sometimes just being in nature and enjoying the beautiful surroundings brings about mindgfulness and is therapy in itself.  Hiking therapy is a platform where the pregnant mother will be able to vent, heal and grow.  Hiking helps promotes the health of the mind,  the body and the spirit.
